Sergeant Templar

The Templar sergeants wore a black surcoat and a red cross on both sides to distinguish themselves from members of other orders. These so-called sergeants belonged to the most renowned combat unit, both for their courage and for their code of conduct and combat skills. The Knights Templar, originally known as the Order of the Poor Knights of Christ of the Temple of Solomon (Order of the Temple), was one of the most powerful Catholic military monastic orders of the Middle Ages.
